William V. Vega, a beloved school bus driver and mechanic at Sunnyside School, as well as a dedicated wrestling coach at Chapperal Middle School, passed away on September 19, 2023, in Tucson. He was born on February 8, 1952, in Tubac, Arizona.

William was a loving and kind-hearted individual who dedicated his life to his family. He will always be remembered for the wonderful memories he created with them. One of his favorite pastimes was spending quality time with his loved ones, cherishing every moment they shared together. From enjoying afternoon naps with his wife to watching sports games featuring his favorite teams – the Rams, Mets, and Lakers – William valued these moments with his family dearly.

Outside of his family life, William also had many hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He had a deep fondness for classic trucks, particularly his father's 1979 Ford pickup and his own 1948 Chevy pickup. Driving these vehicles gave him immense pleasure and allowed him to appreciate the beauty of old-fashioned craftsmanship.

William received his education from Pueblo High School before embarking on a career as a school bus driver and mechanic at Sunnyside School District. His dedication to ensuring the safety of students on their way to school made him an invaluable asset to the community. Moreover, he selflessly coached wrestling at Chapperal Middle School, shaping young athletes' lives both on and off the mat.

Known for being a gentle father figure to his children and tirelessly supportive of their endeavors, William was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement. He provided unwavering support during difficult times and was someone they could always count on for guidance. His patience was unmatched, reminding those around him to persevere through challenges.

William's proudest accomplishment in life was undoubtedly his grandchildren. Their love brought immeasurable joy into his heart. He cherished every moment he spent with them, relishing in the opportunity to nurture their growth and witness their achievements. They will forever hold a special place in his legacy.

In this time of mourning, William is survived by his beloved wife, Jessie Vega, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He is also survived by his children Stella, Guillermo Jr., Christina, Stephanie, Estevan, as well as his grandchildren Guillermo Vega, Billy Vega, Eliza Hill, Sean Vega, and Marinita Vega. Additionally, he is mourned by his father Ralph Vega Sr., mother Pauline Vega, and brother Ralph Vega Jr.

William V. Vega will be remembered as a dedicated family man who always put others before himself. His kind nature, willingness to help others, and enduring love for his family will remain etched in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we bid farewell to this remarkable individual, let us celebrate the life he lived and the memories he leaves behind. May he rest in peace knowing that his legacy of love and selflessness lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
