William McGrew

October 9, 1938 — July 24, 2021

William McGrew was born in Hugo, Oklahoma on October 9th, 1938 to Harold and Marie McGrew. William was a skilled fisherman, carpenter, mason bricklayer, mechanic and "all things tools." He worked and retired from the Pima County Flood Control as a Sr. Heavy Equipment Operator after 29 ½ years of service. He was a small business owner "Willie's Wagon" where he catered some of the best barbeque in town. Known for those ribs that would fall off the bone. He loved to travel by motorhome with his wife of 57 years, Julia McGrew. They would visit family near and far for several months at a time each year. William refurbished, built and/or repaired something at almost everyone's home he visited. He accepted Christ at a young age and rededicated his life to Christ June 2017.

On July 24, 2021 at 12:01 AM William McGrew heard his Master's call and went home to be with the Lord. Everything that he needed had already been prepared. The Lord told him to "take nothing for the journey" his preparations had already been made." William waited until early Saturday morning just to say "Happy Birthday" to his son Harold McGrew.
William was proceeded in death by his parents Harold and Marie McGrew; four of his five siblings Mary Ruth Jackson, L.C. Office, Dorothy McGrew; W.R. McGrew; his grandsons Harold McGrew II, Talib Bridges, and his favorite cousin Ezell Birmingham.

William leaves to cherish his memories: his beautiful & devoted wife Julia McGrew; his sons William McGrew, Dayle McGrew, and Harold McGrew (Jamie McGrew); his daughters Donna Walker (Jerome Walker), Buffie McGrew Bridges (Jermaine Maxwell), Faye McGrew, Cynthia McGrew, Arlene McGrew, Darlene McGrew, and Gale McGrew; his brother Melvin Charles "M.C." McGrew aka Little Brother (Diana McGrew); his foster daughters Chonice Sauls and Clarita Cuff; his heartbeats - his grand and great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
