Thomas "JR" O. Carmona

Thomas "JR" O. Carmona, a beloved figure within his family and community, was born on December 5, 1949, in Tucson, Arizona. He entered eternal rest on November 13, 2025, also in Tucson, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love.

JR worked as a roofer for many years, demonstrating a strong work ethic throughout his career. He ultimately retired from Pima County Parks and Recreation, where his commitment to service was evident. His journey began with a foundational education, graduating from Pueblo High School in Tucson, Arizona, which set the stage for a life devoted to providing for his loved ones.

As a man of many admirable qualities, JR was known for his serious demeanor, complemented by a warm sense of humor that endeared him to those around him. He could always be relied upon, a rock in the lives of his family and friends. JR’s devotion to his daughter and grandchildren was profound; his pride in them was one of his proudest accomplishments.

In addition to his role as a family man, JR had an array of interests that defined his leisure time. He found solace in hunting and cherished evenings spent at home, relaxing while watching his favorite westerns and sci-fi movies. These moments were a testament to his love for fun and enjoyment, resonating within the walls of his home.

JR is survived by his beloved wife, Carmen Carmona; his cherished daughter, Glenda Vega, and her husband, Pedro Vega; and his adored grandchildren, Peter, Thomas, and Brianna Vega. He is also survived by his brother, George Carmona, who will carry forward the memories of their shared experiences.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Susana Carmona, along with his brothers, Antonio Olguin, Rene Carmona, and sister, Irene Lusk. Their memories remain with those he leaves behind as they honor his legacy.
