Socorro I. Galindo, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 96. Born on February 3, 1930, in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, Socorro’s life was a testament to devotion, compassion, and the enduring bonds of family.
From her earliest days in Nogales, Socorro’s world was shaped by her deep roots and connections to those she loved. She moved through life with unwavering dedication to her family, creating a home filled with warmth, kindness, and an abundance of love. Known for her gentle spirit and nurturing heart, Socorro found joy in spending time with family, cherishing every moment shared with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Socorro was, above all else, very family oriented. As a devoted wife and a caring mother, she poured her whole self into building a loving legacy that will live on for generations. Her sense of togetherness was evident in every gathering, large or small, as she always made each person feel valued and at home. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, treasuring their laughter and stories, and taking pride in all of their achievements and adventures.
She is lovingly survived by her beloved husband, Jose Rosendo Galindo son, Rene Galindo, and daughter, Lupita Galindo. Socorro’s memory also lives on through her grandchildren: Denise, Daniel, Porsha, Christina, Bree, and Lauren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her sister, Lourdes Ibarra, continues to honor their shared memories and the unbreakable bond the two siblings nurtured over the years.
Socorro’s journey was also marked by loss, including her beloved sons, Jose Rosendo Galindo Jr. and Gustavo Arturo Galindo; her father, Arturo; and her mother, Guadalupe Ibarra. Their memories, as well as the foundation of love they helped cultivate, remain an integral part of her life’s story.
All whose lives Socorro touched are invited to honor and celebrate her extraordinary life at a Celebration of Life on July 14, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Martinez Funeral Chapels - Tucson, 2580 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713. A Rosary will be held at 3:00 p.m., at the same location.
Socorro Galindo’s enduring devotion to her family and her gentle, loving nature made her a guiding light for all those fortunate enough to know her. As her loved ones gather to remember and celebrate her, they take comfort in the legacy of love, care, and togetherness she leaves behind. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
