1948 "Silver" 2026

Silverio Salaiz

June 20, 1948 — January 6, 2026

Silverio Salaiz, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Rio Rico, Arizona, on January 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 20, 1948, in Glendale, Arizona, Silverio was a beacon of joy and warmth to all who knew him.

His immense love for life was evident in the way he celebrated his birthdays, always preferring the company of mariachi music at a restaurant or the comfort of his home with family. Silverio's talents blossomed in many areas; he loved to sing, dance, draw, and bake, filling his home with laughter and creativity. An avid fan of western movies, he cherished the simple pleasures that life brought his way.

Silverio's career came to a close when he retired from the Sierra Vista Regional Hospital in Sierra Vista, Arizona. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to his family, and he took immense pride in his role as a father and grandfather.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Josephine "Josie" Gonzalez Salaiz, and their children: Silverio Jr., David E. Lopez (Stephanie Medina) their children Ashley and Angelique, Brenda, Bobbie Jo, and Sylvia S. Almada (Edgar) their children Aracelli and Izaiha. His recent joy came from the arrival of his great-grandson Mateo, who was born just a day before Silverio's passing, providing him the chance to connect with the little one over Facetime.

Silverio's legacy will continue through his loving sisters, Cruz S. Gutierrez and Alicia S., Tanabe, along with his caring in-laws Alice Salaiz, Frank (Rosa), Ramon (Maria Angelina), Margarita, Maria "Lala" and Ana Gonzalez, as well as his devoted nieces and nephews who adored him.

Silverio is preceded in death by his parents, Gumercindo and Ramona Salaiz; his son, Bobby; his sisters, Chuya and Irma; and his brother, Ruti.

A rosary service will be held for Silverio on January 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 12:00 PM, both at Most Holy Nativity Catholic Church located at 395 Avenida Coatimundi, Rio Rico, AZ 85648
