Sergio Oscar Salazar, a devoted father, loving grandfather and caring brother passed away peacefully on July 03, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona. Born on September 20, 1959, in Nogales, Arizona, Sergio's life was a testament to hard work, loyalty, and kindness.
He attended Pueblo High School with the class 1977, Sergio committed eighteen years of his career to the Tucson Unified School District, where he was known not only for his dedication but also for his willingness to lend a helping hand. His tireless efforts and unwavering commitment made a lasting impact on those around him.
Sergio was a man full of heart—often described as a sweetheart with a great sense of humor. He was spontaneous by nature, always ready to embark on new adventures, whether that meant traveling, engaging in sports such as softball and bowling, or cruising in his cherished lowriders. A long-time, loyal fan of the San Francisco 49ers, he found joy in both his hobbies and the company of his loved ones.
His proudest accomplishments were his children, who remained the center of his world. He is survived by his son, Sergio Salazar, and his daughter-in-law Savannah, along with grandchildren Christian, Analiyah, Giovani, Estevan, and Gael Salazar. Sergio also leaves behind Siblings, Maria Figueroa, Leticia Romo, Gerardo "Quelilie" Salazar (Irma), Roberto Salazar (Rosie), and Armando Salazar (Anita) and many nieces and nephews. His long-time partner, Eliza Ortiz, stood by his side through life's journey and remains a cherished presence.
Sergio was preceded in death by his beloved son, Oscar Pedro Salazar and brother, Samuel Victor Salazar; his parents, Samuel O. Salazar and Magdalena T. Salazar; and his nephew, Francisco "Kiko" Romo. Their memories live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Known as a caring and spontaneous individual, Sergio’s warmth and generosity touched many lives. His legacy as a hardworking provider and loving family man will be remembered with deep respect and affection.
Sergio Oscar Salazar’s spirit lives on in the love of his family and friends who will continue to cherish his memory.
