Santos Esteban Lopez Turcios, affectionately known as Esteban, was born on December 26, 1966, in San Lorenzo Valle, Honduras. He left this world far too soon October 10, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona, where he had built a life filled with hard work, love, and a commitment to his community.
Esteban moved to the United States in his 30s, embarking on a journey that would see him become a revered figure in his community. His career was marked by his entrepreneurial spirit as he began selling mattresses and participated in various markets, including the Tanque Verde Swap Meet. A dedicated landscaper for many years, Esteban worked with Northwest/Yellowstone landscaping, contributing significantly to projects around Tucson and the surrounding areas. His involvement in the expansion of the road leading up to Mount Lemon, the aviation extension, and numerous other projects highlighted his dedication and pride in his work. Known for his skills as an overall handyman, he was always ready to lend a hand to those in need.
Esteban was renowned for his kindhearted nature and his genuine care for others. He was a gentle man who showed love and compassion in everything he did, and his willingness to assist those around him was a defining aspect of his character. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, often found working on his truck and engaging in various projects that brought him joy and fulfillment.
Esteban is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Lopez; his children, Luis Armando Lopez and Andrea Ponce; and his siblings, Herenia Lopez Turcios, Araceli Lopez Oceda, Elsa Lopez, Irma Lydia Lopez Turcios, Santos Esperanza Turcios, and Ilmer Lopez. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who will remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sabino Lopez and Irene Turcios, who shaped the foundation of the loving family he built.
A visitation will be held in his honor on October 25, 2025, starting at 8:00 AM at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson, AZ, followed by a burial service at Holy Hope Cemetery at 11:30 PM the same day.
Esteban Lopez Turcios will be remembered as a loving husband, dedicated father, and a compassionate friend whose impact on those around him will endure for generations. His legacy is one of hard work, kindness, and unwavering support for his loved ones and community.
