Ruben J Sanchez

Ruben J Sanchez, 94, of Tucson has passed away. Ruben is survived by his sons; Daniel Marquez and Ruben Sanchez Jr., daughters; Ida Suarez and Linda Borbon, brother; Bonnie Sanchez. He is also survived by 6 grandsons; Robert Sanchez, Raymond Borbon Jr., Victor Suarez Jr., Richard Borbon, Jared Marquez and Trent Marquez, granddaughters; Carissa Sanchez, Felicia Mendoza and Alexis Borbon. Great grandchildren; Patricia Pedrin-Sanchez, Aria Baldenegro, Neveah Acevedo-Sanchez, Ariana Mendoza and Henry Borbon. Lastly, his great, great granddaughter; Camila Felix.

He loved his family and when he lost his wife five and a half years back it was the love of his family and the children in his life that kept him strong until the ripe old age of 94 years old. You would often find him pushing the babies around in a stroller in the back yard and not even two bad knees and two bad shoulders could keep him from picking them up and holding them right until the very end.

He was many things, but he will always be remembered as strong man, awesome grandfather, and someone that lived by the beat of his own drum. Whether it was lying about his age so he could join World War 2 with his older brothers at age 16 or sneaking off in the middle of the night to drive to Vegas to visit his brother when he was 92, he did what he wanted. And there was not a person alive that could tell him otherwise.

He could build or fix anything. He was never afraid to take on new challenges. The knowledge he imparted and the love he gave will live on through all those he is survived by. He is with his wife now, Delma Sanchez, and I know that makes him very happy. I can imagine them now watching over us, getting everything ready for the day when we will meet again. Knowing him he will have big shot of Jim Beam ready
