Pete Alegria

September 1, 1949 — February 17, 2022

Pete Alegria, born September 1st 1949, passed away Thursday February 17th 2022, surrounded by the love of his family. Pete was a lifelong resident of Tubac and his home was the open range.

Preceded in death by his parents Ramona, Pete, brother Fred, and beloved horse Rio.

Survived by his wife Grace, children Michael, Jason, and Kimberly. Granddaughters Alanna, Alyssa, Riley, and 3 great-grandchildren. Sisters Francis, Olga, Rosa, brothers Abelardo, Charlie, and Arnold.

Pete lived his life serving the people of Santa Cruz county and will forever be remembered for his lively storytelling. Retired range deputy for the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s office, firefighter/EMT for Tubac fire department, coordinator and president for Search and Rescue, and cowboy for the Double Z.

He will be greatly missed by his family and all those that crossed paths with him.
