Olivia I. Gonzalez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, born on May 4, 1962, in Nogales, Arizona, departed this world on January 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering support that touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. Olivia was not just a woman; she was a mother figure to everyone she encountered, radiating kindness and warmth in all her interactions.
A proud graduate of Nogales High School, Olivia cherished her roots in the community she loved. Over the years, she built a life rich with experiences and connections. Her family and friends knew her as a devoted wife to Tomas Gonzalez, with whom she shared 41 beautiful years of marriage. Olivia's greatest joy came from her daughters, Lucette Ramirez (Enrique) and Jessica Whitaker (Aaron), and her cherished grandchildren, Malina Rei and Masen Wes Ramirez. They were her proudest accomplishments, the shining stars in her life that filled her heart with immense happiness.
Olivia’s vibrant spirit and resilience shone brightly in her everyday life. There was nothing that could bring her down; her strong-willed nature complemented her genuine soul, making her a pillar of strength for those around her. Loved ones remember her as an incredibly caring, loving, and supportive person who always had time to lend a listening ear or offer advice.
Her zest for life extended beyond her family. Olivia had a passion for travel and adventure, finding joy in booking the next cruise and exploring new destinations. Her love for travel created beautiful memories that she cherished and passed on to her family, inspiring them to embrace life fully.
Olivia’s legacy is enduring. She is survived by her husband Tomas, daughters Lucette and Jessica, grandchildren Malina and Masen, siblings Miryam Ley and Hector Foncerrada, as well as an extended family of nieces, nephews, and countless friends whose lives she touched so deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernesto Foncerrada and Bertha Foncerrada, and her brother, Ernesto Foncerrada.
A Mass in her honor will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nogales, Arizona on January 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with a gathering of loved ones to remember a truly remarkable woman whose spirit will continue to inspire and uplift all those who were fortunate enough to know her. Olivia I. Gonzalez will forever remain in our hearts, a shining example of love and resilience.
