Ofelia G. Berryman, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on May 29, 2025, at her home in Tubac, Arizona. Born on January 1, 1939, in Tubac, Arizona. Ofelia lived a life rich in love, laughter, and a passion for her family that defined her very essence.
Her personality was mixed with fiesty determination, strong will, and an outspoken honesty that engaged everyone she met. Those who knew her would often recount her warmth, her undeniable charisma, and her ability to speak her mind, always with kindness at the core. A loving mother and grandmother, Ofelia's proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, who each carry a piece of her spirit within them.
Ofelia’s days were filled with nurturing her passions; gardening, sewing, and cooking brought her joy, as did the thrill of hunting for treasures at yard sales. It was in these simple pleasures that she found peace and fulfillment, often sharing the fruits of her labor with family and friends who adored her culinary creations and bright blooms. She thoroughly enjoyed living her life on her ranch on Tres De Mayo Road that was inherited from her family that has lived there for many years.
She is survived by her cherished children: Yolanda Sanchez, Francisco Sanchez, Manuel Sanchez (Olivia), Stella Parada, Roger Berryman, Annabelle Garza, Alfredo Garza, Daniel Berryman (Mona), and Brianna Majalca. Ofelia also leaves behind a legacy that includes her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her dear sister, Josephine Gonzalez Berryman, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and devoted friends.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Ofelia's vibrant spirit at the following services: Visitation on June 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Nogales with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Mass honoring her life will be held on June 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Tubac, followed by a burial at Tubac Cemetery at 12:30 PM.
As we remember Ofelia G. Berryman, let us cherish her vivacious spirit that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her indelible impact on the hearts of those she loved.
