Ofelia B. Flores, lovingly known as “Everyone’s Grandma,” passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, in her hometown of Tucson, Arizona, at the remarkable age of 94. Born on November 20, 1930, in Tucson, Ofelia was a steadfast pillar of strength and resilience, exemplifying a life deeply rooted in love and faith.
For decades, Ofelia made her home in Barrio Hollywood, where she nurtured and embraced four generations of her family under a single roof. She was not just a grandmother; she was the heart of her family and community, a steady comfort to all who knew her. Her enduring spirit and wisdom left a legacy that will forever be cherished by those she held dear.
Ofelia’s family expands to a multitude of loving descendants, including her cherished children: Josie, Richard, Roberto “Bobby,” and Alice. The blooming love she cultivated continues through her 30 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, and 29 great-great-grandchildren. Each of them carries a piece of her warmth, laughter, and compassion.
In her passing, Ofelia is now joyfully reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Alberto “Beto” Flores, and her precious children who went before her, Sophia, Ana, and Patrick. The memories they forged together are treasures that will forever remain in the hearts of those left behind.
The services honoring Ofelia will take place on August 28, 2025, at Martinez Funeral Chapels, located at 2580 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM and continue until 9:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Mass will also be held at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, located at 1220 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ, at 10:00 AM. Ofelia will then be laid to rest at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N Oracle Rd, Tucson, AZ, on August 29, 2025, with a burial service commencing at 11:30 AM.
As we bid farewell to Ofelia B. Flores, we celebrate a life that was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and countless memories. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and nurture future generations. Her presence will be deeply missed but her spirit will forever echo in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
Her hands are now at rest, her heart forever in ours.
