Nicolas Ochoa, a beloved family man and hardworking individual who dedicated his life to transportation management, has passed away on November 1, 2023 in Tucson, Arizona. Born on July 13, 1944, in Nogales, Nicolas was a native of the town that shaped his character and values.

Nicolas attended Elm School and Nogales High School, where he laid the foundation for a successful and fulfilling life. After completing his education, Nicolas pursued a career in transportation management—a field that he excelled in for most of his life. His dedication to his work was evident in the way he approached each task with immense discipline and integrity. Nicolas was admired by his colleagues and respected by all who had the privilege of knowing him professionally.

Beyond his career achievements, Nicolas's true joy came from spending time with his family. He cherished family get-togethers and parties, cherishing every moment spent laughing, sharing stories, and making memories to last a lifetime. His warm and loving nature made these gatherings even more special as he embraced everyone with open arms and a joyful spirit.

Known for being the life of the party, Nicolas had a nickname for everyone he encountered. His sense of humor endeared him to others as he brought laughter wherever he went. His zest for life was contagious, and he had a way of brightening even the darkest days with a well-timed joke or lighthearted remark.

Outside of work and family time, Nicolas found solace in simple pleasures. He enjoyed gardening—tending to vibrant blooms that reflected his gentle nurturing nature. He could often be seen strolling through the neighborhood walking not only his own dog but also taking care of everyone else's pets—a testament to his caring nature. In addition to being an animal lover, Nicolas was an avid sports enthusiast who loved watching games with great enthusiasm.

Nicolas also proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he demonstrated his unwavering commitment to his country. His military service showcased his bravery and patriotism, values that were deeply ingrained in him throughout his life.

However, Nicolas's proudest accomplishments were not found in his career or personal hobbies but in the ways he helped others. He was always there for his family, friends, and neighbors whenever they needed him. Offering a helping hand or a listening ear, Nicolas touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity.

Nicolas leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and selflessness. He is survived by his loving spouse, Carmen Alicia Ochoa, who stood by his side through thick and thin. His three daughters, Cindy Leon (Jorge), Brenda Pacheco (Cesar), and Denise Ochoa-Puchi (Ricardo), meant the world to him—a constant source of joy and pride. Additionally, Nicolas leaves behind seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
