From her daughter Yasmin:

My favorite and most cherished tradition I had with my mom was having our morning coffee. Every single day, whether it was hot or cold, we would go and sit outside to enjoy the morning together while my uncle had his breakfast. We would talk about life while we tuned in and listen to The Johnjay and Rich show. We talked about them like they were our friends. The show brought ease and laughter into our lives. My mom enjoyed singing and dancing with her brother to his favorite songs, with his favorite being Let it Be by the Beatles. Our personal favorite song was Vivir mi vida by Marc Anthony. She would always dance and cook to this song. I enjoyed watching her stargaze and going outside at night to look at the stars. I enjoyed the times we prayed, practiced gratitude and talk to god about our hopes and reams. But overall, my favorite memory with her was her presence. She always made us laugh and most importantly acknowledged and encouraged others with simple words like “todo va estar bien”. Those simple words brought a sense of calmness, relief and hope to both my uncle and I. Her words were always meaningful, powerful, and healing.

Her brother’s favorite memory was when she would buy him notebooks and markers also known to him as “regalos”. He loved when she gave him his favorite food and drinks which are Mcdonalds and Carls Jr. He would also love when she would put on the Dukes of Hazard show for him. Most importantly, his favorite memory of all is when she would be next to him and sang and danced along to all his favorite songs.

Myrna Lopez Barceló touched the lives of countless individuals with her kind and caring soul. Her unwavering dedication to others and her ability to find joy in the simplest of things serves as an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory forever serve as a reminder that our capacity for love and compassion has the power to transform lives.

As we bid farewell to Myrna, let us celebrate her remarkable journey through life and the everlasting impact she had on those around her. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all those she touched with her profound love and generosity.
