Miguel Angel Ahumada, affectionately known as Mike, was born on August 1, 1954, in Nogales, Arizona. His journey in life came to a close on August 5, 2025, in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, leaving behind a rich tapestry of memories woven with laughter, love, and the bonds he forged throughout his life.
Mike was a dedicated quality control inspector for the produce industry, a role that exemplified his meticulous nature and commitment to excellence. A 1973 graduate of Nogales High School, he also attended Arizona State University, where he laid the groundwork for a life filled with achievements, including his proudest accomplishments: his cherished children and grandchildren.
He was a man of many talents, known for his funny and charming personality that could light up any room. As a jokester and a friend, Mike had the magical ability to connect with people. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, sharing stories and laughter. He was truly set in his ways but did so with an endearing charm that endeared him to everyone he met.
Mike's passions extended beyond his career. He had a deep love for his horses and spent many joyful days roping and visiting horse races. His adventurous spirit led him to tame wild horses in his younger years, an experience he cherished greatly. Music filled his heart, and he found solace in taking long rides in his truck, exploring the beauty around him.
Mike leaves behind his beloved children, Fernanda Ahumada and Miguel Ahumada (April Robles), who will carry his legacy with pride. He was a devoted grandfather to Michael Anthony Ahumada, Nichole Bradshaw, and Gabriel Valenzuela, Jr., each of whom brought immeasurable joy to his life. His sister, Lourdes Ahumada-Lopez, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends, will also hold dear the memories forged with a man who loved fiercely and lived fully.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hector and Alicia Ahumada, as well as his siblings, Hector Ahumada and Sandra Romero. Though the loss of Mike is profound, his spirit will continue to shine through the lives he touched.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life, with visitation taking place at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Nogales on August 12, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A mass honoring Mike’s life will be held the following day at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 2:00 PM.
As we remember Miguel Angel Ahumada, let us cherish the laughter he brought, the love he shared, and the indelible marks he left in our hearts. His legacy will forever be celebrated in the stories we tell and the love we continue to spread in his honor.
