Mary Frances "Panchita" McSpadden

September 29, 1951 — October 16, 2025

Tucson, AZ

Mary Frances "Panchita" McSpadden, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully in Tucson, Arizona, on October 16, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on September 29, 1951, in Tucson, she was a proud member of the Pueblo High School Class of 1969, embodying the spirit of a true Warrior throughout her life.

Mary dedicated many years to serving as an administrative assistant for Pima Community College, where she held various roles from 1983 until her retirement. She approached each task with heartfelt dedication, always striving to support her colleagues and students alike.

A devoted Catholic, Mary found solace in her faith, often watching the Catholic channel and praying the rosary daily. Her loveable personality shone through in her daily interactions, often kicking off phone calls at the early hour of 5:00 am. Known for her kindness and occasional outspoken nature, she was the keeper of secrets but if you didn’t want something shared, you learned quickly not to tell her.

Mary's greatest pride came from her family. She is survived by her loving daughters, Elsa Marie Escalante (Richard), Angelica Garcia (Oscar Vega), and Ana Patricia Garcia. She was the doting grandmother to seven grandchildren; Jerry, Teresa, Adrianna, Jessica, Ricky, Alex, and Aracelli and welcomed great-grandchildren Desiree, Katalina, Vicente, Aaliyah, Azaylia-Jai, and Georgia, with another baby on the way. Her unwavering support for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was evident as she attended every event she could, cheering them on as their number one fan.

Mary derived joy from simple pleasures, whether it was listening to music and dancing to her beloved artists like Little Joe and Sunny and the Sunliners, or enjoying drives around town and dining out. She created memorable moments during sleepovers with her grandchildren, where movie nights became cherished family traditions.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Riley McSpadden, and her parents, Eleazar and Teresa Garcia.

Mary Frances “Panchita” McSpadden will forever be remembered for her warm heart, her passion for life, and the deep love she held for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and joy that will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.

Visitation will be held on October 20, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson, followed by a Rosary from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
