Martha Ortega Garcia

Martha "Marti" Ortega Garcia, age 73, peacefully passed away on February 24, 2021. She was born in Morenci, Arizona to Juan and Luisa Ortega. In 1965, she married her husband, John, and they had 3 children. She was a homemaker and spent her time raising her children and volunteering her time at their church. After moving to Tucson, Arizona in 1984, she took a job with Pima County as a medical records clerk and worked her way up to Medical Records Supervisor by the time she retired in 2008. When she retired, she found her beloved Maltipoo, Presley, to keep her company in her retirement. Whether you knew Marti for many years or you just met her, you were drawn to her. She had an amazing ability to make people feel warm and welcomed.

Marti was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was like a second mother to some. She was a spiritual woman and very true to her faith. She loved to cook. Anyone who ate her cooking never forgot it. She loved to watch the Hallmark Channel. On any given day, you could find her knee deep in a hallmark movie. Family was most important to her and she showed that every day and in everything that she did.

She was a beautiful and endearing soul and will be dearly missed. Preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Luisa Ortega, and her brother, Robert. She is survived by her beloved husband, John; son, Louis; daughters, Marie and Kathy; her fur baby, Presley; grandchildren Candace, Timothy, Lupita, Anjelica, Denitza, Jessica, Robert, and Alaysia; great-grandchildren Rainer, Tristin, Bella, Jaxson, Stirling and Visenya; brother, Juan; sister Irene; and many family members and friends.
