Martha Padilla Felix, a beloved matriarch and pillar of her community, was born on October 12, 1942, and peacefully passed away on June 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. She was 82 years old and her warmth and generosity have touched the lives of many.
Martha was a woman of deep faith and commitment, exemplifying the values she held dear through her tireless efforts in service to others. A devoted member of Sacred Heart Parish for over 30 years, she became an integral part of her church community, known for her charitable spirit and welcoming nature. As a member of the Legion de Maria, she found joy in serving as a catechist, sharing her love for faith and compassion with those around her. Her contributions included helping to feed the needy, displaying a selfless commitment to uplifting others that will always be remembered.
Family was at the heart of Martha's life. She was the cherished mother of three daughters: Martha P. Luna (Joe R. Luna), Marcella Zuniga (Heriberto Zuniga), and Mary Lou Velasco (Juan Velasco). Their relationships blossomed through shared memories and experiences, deeply enriched by Martha's loving guidance. She also embraced her role as a mother-in-law to Pedro Martinez with open arms, further expanding the bonds of family that meant so much to her.
Martha took immense pride in her grandchildren, numbering ten, and her twelve great-grandchildren, to whom she imparted her wisdom and love. Gatherings with her family brought her immeasurable joy, and her home was always a haven filled with laughter, encouragement, and warmth.
She is now reunited in spirit with her loving husband, Cosme F. Felix, who shared thirty wonderful years with her, and her daughter, Maricela Martinez. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Martha's farewell will be honored on June 14, 2025, beginning with a Rosary at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nogales, Arizona, followed by a Mass celebrating her beautiful life. As we remember Martha Padilla Felix, we celebrate her incredible spirit, the love she shared, and the legacy that will carry on in the hearts of her family and community. Even in her passing, she continues to inspire kindness and compassion, ensuring her light will forever shine brightly in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
