Maria "Terry" Teresa Ahumada, born on December 13, 1939, in Hermosillo, Sonora, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, Tucson, Arizona. Leaving behind a legacy of love that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she cherished. A devoted homemaker for the majority of her life, Terry's warmth and kindness extended beyond her immediate family. With a sweet and loving disposition, she embraced her children's spouses as if they were her own, fostering a family bond that was true and unshakeable. In addition to creating a nurturing home, Terry spent a brief time working as a waitress at El Charro Restaurant, where her genuine smile and caring nature undoubtedly brightened the days of many patrons.
Terry's character was a testament to her spirit. She had an unparalleled good-hearted love for animals and often opened her home to those in need, providing refuge to the homeless with compassion and generosity. Her kindheartedness was matched by her active membership in the Guadalupanas at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, where she found community and purpose. Music was a source of joy for Terry, and she cherished the moments spent enveloped in melodies while surrounded by her beloved family.
Her greatest pride and achievement lay in her family, which she nurtured with unwavering dedication throughout her life.
Terry leaves behind her beloved husband of 65 years, Armando Ahumada; her children, Armando Ahumada (Mercy), Alma Ahumada, Anna Mejia (Mike) and Dolores Jaramillo; as well many cherished Grandchildren (15), Great -Grandchildren (39) and Great-Great Grandchildren (7). She is also survived by her sister, Irma Escajeda, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends who all experienced her radiant love. Her spirit is lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Though she now rests alongside her dearly departed sons, Alex and Albert Ahumada, as well as her brothers Rudy, Frank, and Jose Perez, and her parents, Jose and Mariana, her influence continues to shine brightly in the lives she touched. Terry's legacy of kindness and love will forever echo through her family and friends, reminding us of the profound impact one gentle soul can have on the world.
