Maria S. Gonzalez

April 3, 1942 — July 28, 2022

Maria Soledad “Chole” Gonzalez, 80, born in San Isidro DB Chihuahua, of Sahuarita, AZ has passed away. Chole is survived by her son; Roberto Gonzalez (Lysa), daughter: Bertha G Carabajal (Abel), brothers; Julian Puebla and Rogelio Puebla, 6 granddaughters Angelica, Jessica, Veronica, Yesenia, Lyzette, Jazmyn: 4 grandsons Roberto, Angel, Roberto C, Jaymes and the littlest loves of her life her great-grandchildren Jesse, Catalaya, Yessi, Maximilliano, Isela, Bj, Christian, Aiden and many friends and so many family members.

Chole was a devoted mother first and foremost, she treasured her children and was always wanting to help them any way she could. She instilled in them strong values, taught them to have respect and always live with integrity. Her greatest joy was helping with her great grandchildren, getting them on the school bus every morning and waiting patiently for them after school every day with a cookie and a hug. Her babies will never forget her and the great Nani that she was for them.

She was a cherished member of the Ladies Club at San Martin de Porres Church in Sahuarita, AZ and nobody will ever forget her pineapple empanadas and her ring toss booth at the yearly Fall Fiesta. Her friend of many years Dolores Acedo will miss her greatly as their routine was lunch after church every Sunday.

Chole took her health very serious going to Pilates twice a week at Studio One-Eleven in Green Valley, AZ, where she made friends and would ride her stationary bike at least 30 minutes and 100 laps up and down her hallway every day. She would alternate her routine to sometimes include walking around the Sahuarita Lake in Rancho with her best friend of so many years Yolanda Blanco.

We are heartbroken and will miss her the rest of our lives. She never wanted to be a burden to her children and have a long drawn out illness and God granted our Mother that wish. She went to sleep here and woke up in Heaven to see her baby son Angel that has been waiting for her since 1969, her husband Bernardo that she has missed for 22 years, her sisters Bertha and Maria “Maruca”, her brothers Francisco “Sirico” and Raul, her parents and so many loved ones.  A beautiful reunion indeed.

We love you Mama we will continue to be the brother and sister you always taught us to be, watch over us and the family and friends you leave behind. You were the best Mother and Nani and that void will never be filled. We’ll see you in the flowers, rainbows, sunrise and sunsets all the days of our life.

Until we meet again…
