Maria “Viole” Gutierrez passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, at the age of 82. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Maria is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Benito Gutierrez, as well as her parents, Dario and Tomasa Perez, five siblings, and her son-in-law, Jose Ruelas.

She is survived by her sister, Rose (Israel) Gradillas; her children, Jimmy Gutierrez, Sylvia Ruelas, and Tomasita (Steven) Villa; grandchildren, Ben (Annette), Stevie, and Dario (Amber); great-grandchildren, Ben Jr. (Karen), Desiree, Luciano, and Adellene; and many nieces and nephews.

Maria's love, strength, and kindness will continue to resonate through her family and the countless lives she touched. She will forever remain in our hearts and memories.

Visitation will be held on March 27, 2026, at Martinez Funeral Chapel, located at 2580 S 6th Ave, Tucson, Arizona, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A private viewing for family will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., followed by a rosary at 10:30 a.m. The burial will take place at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N. Oracle Rd, Tucson, Arizona. Following the burial, a Celebration of Life reception will be held at the American Legion Post #68, 4742 S. 12th Avenue, Tucson, Arizona.
