Maria Ellena Alvarado

Maria Ellena Alvarado passed away on October 20th ,2025.
She was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, life partner, friend, and many other roles. She led her life with a generous spirit and a heart full of faith. Maria dedicated her life to her family and to the countless people she touched along the way. She was the cornerstone of her family — a source of wisdom, comfort, and endless love.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jose L. Ortiz, and her siblings, Jose Manuel Ortiz and Josephine Ortiz.

Maria is survived by her mother, Concepcion M. Ortiz. Her daughter, Stephanie M. Alvarado; her son, Paul Michael Alvarado. Her Grandchildren Stephen Alvarado, Daniel Lopez, Andrew Lopez, Alexis Lopez. Her great granddaughter Lelissa Lopez. Her long-time partner, Jerry E. Pipes. Her siblings, Raul Ortiz, Bonifacio (Lupe) Ortiz, Margarita (Jessie) Raley, Juan Ortiz, Aurora (Eddie) Avalos.

Maria’s gentle heart, steady presence, and unwavering generosity will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her. Her legacy of kindness and service will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.

Services will be held November 3rd, 2025. Viewing will start at 8:30 a.m. To 10:00 a.m. for family and  friends at Martinez Funeral Chapel, 2580 S. 6th Ave, 85713. Rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 1950 W. Irvington Pl., Tucson, AZ 85746, followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Maria will be laid to rest at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N. Oracle Rd, Tucson, AZ 85705. Celebration of Life will be back at Our Lady of Fatima Parish in the church hall following Holy Hope Cemetery till 4:00 p.m.
