Marco Antonio Garcia was born on November 22, 1964, and passed peacefully at home on April 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Marco was a warm, kind, and deeply loving family man whose greatest joy came from time spent with those closest to him. A devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and faithful Catholic, his gentle spirit touched all who knew him.
He married the love of his life, Rebecca Esparza, on March 18, 1983. Their marriage was built on deep love, faith, partnership, and devotion, and she remained the center of his heart throughout his life.
Marco found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments, especially treasured time spent with his sons, including trips to New Mexico to visit his eldest son Marco, Kelly Bassett, and his beloved grandpuppies, Ollie and Emmitt. He loved waking up early on Sundays to find the biggest glazed donut he could to surprise his grandsons. He enjoyed fishing and golfing with his sons, whether on the course or virtually on Xbox. A devoted sports fan, Marco proudly cheered for the San Francisco 49ers, rooted against the Dallas Cowboys in a goodnatured family rivalry, and passionately supported University of Arizona athletics — Bear Down!
A kind soul with a generous spirit, Marco will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his gentle presence, and the warmth he brought into every room. His smile was contagious, often lighting up the faces of those around him and making everyone feel welcome and cared for. He made family the center of everything he did, and his legacy lives on through the love he shared and the lives he touched.
He is survived by his loving parents, Elisa Ostos and stepfather Jesus Ostos, Fermin Garcia and stepmother Carmen Garcia; his children Marco Jr., Franky and Margo, and Robert (Bobby)and Sabina; his cherished grandchildren Franky Jr., Mateo, Mylo, Nico, and Rudy, who brought him immense pride and happiness; his sister Priscilla Madrid, her husband Manny and Grandpa George Madrid; his sister Lina Quezada and her husband Chano; his brother Patrick Garcia and wife Rachel Garcia; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews across the Esparza, Nunez, Arenas, Grijalva, and Madridfamilies.
Marco is preceded in death by his beloved wife Rebecca Garcia, his son Fermin Garcia, and his brother Michael Madrid, and mother-in-law Guadalupe Ezparza, all of whom he held close to his heart.
