Louis Albert Diaz, affectionately known as "Champ," passed away on June 7, 2026, in his birthplace of Tucson, Arizona. Born on August 25, 1962, he lived a life marked by warmth, humor, and love for his family and many friends.
Louis was known for his beautiful spirit and made friends easily. Always ready with a joke, he brought laughter and light-hearted moments to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was especially known for his homemade salsa, a treasured gift he shared with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving sisters Rosemary and Becky, and brothers Ron (and his wife Jane), Johnny, and Robert. His devoted daughter Marina also carries forward his legacy of kindness and joy. Louis was fortunate to be surrounded by a large extended family, including numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, who will all remember him fondly.
Louis was preceded in death by his cherished parents, Irene Martinez Diaz and Louis Green Diaz, as well as his brothers Charlie and Frank, whose memories he carried with him throughout his life.
A memorial service to honor Louis’s memory will be held on June 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson, located at 2580 S 6th Ave. A Rosary will also be offered during this time at the same location, beginning at 11:00 AM.
Louis "Champ" Diaz will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His laughter, his zest for life, and the warmth of his presence will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever. We will miss you, brother.
