Josh “J Money $” Marcus Murillo, born on November 22, 1992, in Nogales, AZ, left this world far too soon on July 21, 2026, in Tucson, AZ. The legacy he leaves behind—one of warmth, laughter, and immeasurable love—will forever be cherished by those who had the deep joy of knowing him.

From the moment he entered the world, Josh’s presence lit up every room. He carried with him an infectious joy, always wearing a smile that could ease any worry and lift any spirit. Those closest to him lovingly recall his playful heart; he was a true jokester who found humor in every corner of life, often sharing laughs that would echo long after.

But there was a gentleness at the center of Josh’s soul—a profound friendliness that made everyone feel like family. He lived his life guided by kindness, making each person he met instantly feel like an old friend. Whether with loved ones or new acquaintances, his open arms and genuine spirit left no one untouched.

Josh was many things—a hardworking man, a loyal friend, and an unfaltering source of strength—but above all, he was a devoted father. His son was his world, his pride, his deepest accomplishment. Josh lived for his son, finding purpose and happiness in every moment they shared together. The time they spent together defined him, and he cherished every laughter-filled day, every quiet moment, and every hug. Friends and family remember Josh’s big personality and impeccable style. He loved shopping, and his shoe collection was unmatched—a reflection of his flair and unique taste. Josh leaves behind his beloved son, Jordan Murillo and fiancé Christine Canez, who was the light of his life. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Ivonne Murillo; father, Juan Murillo; stepdaughters Anissa, Alyanna, and Jocelyn Quintero; brother Michael Murillo; sisters Jamila Murillo and Joann Mejia; brother-in-law Phillip Mejia; mother and father-in-law John and Armida Martinez.

As we mourn Josh’s passing, we also remember and honor those in his family who have gone before him: his grandfathers, Alejandro Varela and Heriberto Murillo, and his grandmothers, Susana Varela and Carmelina Murillo; may they welcome him with loving arms.

Family and friends are invited to gather in loving memory of Josh at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson, located at 2580 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, followed by a Prayer Service from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm that same evening.
