With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Jose Oscar Lopez, who left us peacefully on June 28, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on January 21, 1946, Jose’s journey was marked by boundless love, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
Jose was a cherished husband, beloved father, Grandfather and great grandfather, devoted brother, and treasured friend. His life was deeply intertwined with those he loved most, and his warmth and spirit were felt by all who had the privilege to know him. He is survived by his loving wife Isabel R. Lopez, who stood by his side through each trial and joy, and by his children, Denisse (Antonio) Virgen, Jose Oscar (Katrina) Lopez Jr., Lorenia (Cesar) Rodriguez, and Fabian (Jessica) Lopez, 12 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, each of whom inherited his wit, kindness, and enduring strength. Jose’s love for his family was unconditional, and the pride he held for each of them was unmistakable.
Also mourning his loss are his brothers, Armando R. Lopez and Jorge Lopez, whose lives were made brighter by their bond with Jose. As a brother, he was both a confidant and a pillar—a constant presence who offered wisdom and laughter in equal measure.
Jose joins in eternal rest his beloved mother, Maria Elena Lopez, as well as his brothers Sergio Lopez and Francisco Ayala, whose memories he carried tenderly in his heart. Although their absence was felt deeply, Jose always honored their spirits with stories and traditions that kept them close.
Throughout his life, Jose was known for the light-hearted sayings that became legendary within his family. Among the most cherished were, “where are you going …. to Hollywood!!!” and the classic call, “have you seen my …. estan en el refri!!!” These favorite quotes not only brought smiles and laughter into his home but became an indelible part of his family’s memory—a legacy of joy and humor that will echo for generations to come.
The impact of Jose’s life resonates far beyond words. He possessed a rare ability to lift spirits, turn an ordinary moment into one of laughter, and provide comfort with a simple glance or phrase. His love, laughter, and guidance shaped the lives around him more profoundly than he ever knew.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate and remember Jose’s remarkable life. Visitation will take place on July 1, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Martinez Funeral Chapels - Nogales, located at 891 W Mariposa Rd, Nogales, AZ 85621.
