Jose Rosendo Galindo touched the lives of all who knew him through more than a century of vibrant life, warm friendship, and unwavering faith. Passing away peacefully on August 15, 2026, just days before his 106th birthday, Jose’s extraordinary journey was built upon a foundation of resilience, compassion, and a deep devotion to both his family and his beliefs.
Born on August 28, 1920, Jose Rosendo Galindo’s story began as the beloved son of Rosendo Galindo and Elvira Bejarano. Through the joys and challenges that life presented, Jose remained rooted in the values and traditions passed down to him, holding tightly to his Catholic faith and always crediting God for the long, prosperous years he was granted.
Jose was, above all, a hardworking man, known for the kindness and generosity he brought to every encounter, for his outgoing and friendly spirit, and the boundless warmth with which he greeted others. As a loving father and devoted husband, he built a legacy defined by dedication and unconditional love for his family. His proudest accomplishment, he would often say, was his children, and the pride he felt in their lives and achievements could be seen in his gentle smile and heard in every story he shared.
With his beloved wife, Maria Del Socorro Galindo, by his side, Jose raised a family that became the joy and center of his world. Together, they welcomed their sons and daughters with open arms and nurtured a household filled with love, laughter, and faith. Jose’s role as a father to Rene Galindo and Lupita Galindo, and as a grandfather to Denise, Daniel, Porsha, Christina, Bree, and Lauren, was a source of immense happiness. The memories built from simple moments, warm embraces, and supportive words will endure as a testament to his steadfast love.
Jose’s journey was also marked by loss, as he was predeceased by his cherished wife Maria del Soccoro, his parents Rosendo and Elvira, and his sons Jose Rosendo Galindo Jr. and Gustavo Arturo Galindo. In their absence, the strength of his spirit and the breadth of his affection for those around him became all the more evident.
A man of faith, Jose was a devout Catholic, finding comfort, guidance, and profound meaning in his spiritual life—a beacon that illuminated every stage of his long years. He loved watching sports, especially baseball, soccer, and boxing, a pastime that brought him joy and camaraderie, and allowed him to share in the universal language of competition and triumph with family and friends.
Jose’s legacy is etched into the hearts of all who were privileged to know him. The kindness he showed, the laughter he inspired, and the values he upheld will echo through generations to come. His remarkable longevity, reaching nearly 106 years of age, stands as a testament to both his perseverance and the blessings he always humbly attributed to God.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Jose’s life and honor his memory at a visitation on August 18, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson, located at 2580 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713. A rosary service will also be held at 3:00 PM at the same location.
As we mourn the passing of Jose Rosendo Galindo, we also rejoice in the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the enduring spirit with which he embraced each day. His memory will live on in the vivid stories told by those who loved him, in the values he has passed down, and in the lasting mark he has left on the world.
