Jessie E. Vega, a beacon of love and light, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, in Tucson, AZ, at the age of 69. Born on July 20, 1956, in Nogales, AZ, Jessie was a remarkable individual who brought joy and warmth to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Throughout her life, Jessie possessed an amazing outlook that inspired those around her. She was a devoted mother to her children: Stella, Guillermo, Christina, Stephanie, and Estevan (Vanessa), who all carry a piece of her compassionate spirit in their hearts. As a caring sister to Jennie Ahumada, Julie Martinez, and Edna Trinidad (Alfonso), Jessie shared a bond that was unbreakable, filled with love and laughter.
Jessie's pride and joy were undoubtedly her grandchildren: Guillermo A. Vega, Billy Vega, Eliza Hill, Sean Vega, and Marina Vega. These cherished relationships were her proudest accomplishments, and she reveled in each milestone, filling their lives with guidance, support, and unconditional love.
An excellent cook, Jessie had the remarkable ability to weave her love into the meals she prepared, often gathered around a table filled with family and friends. Her passion for Tejano music, particularly the sounds of Jay Perez, brought her immense joy and infused her home with rhythm and celebration.
Jessie's loving nature extended beyond her immediate family, as she was a true friend to many. Her spirit will continue to live on through the countless memories shared with her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, each one touched by her kindness and warmth. A special thank you to Joanna, her caregiver.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, William Vega, whose love she deeply cherished. Jessie is also reunited in eternal rest with her parents, Antonio and Ernestina Velasco, parents-in-law, Ralph and Pauline Vega, and brothers-in-law, Ralph Martinez and Ralph Vega, Jr.
As we remember Jessie E. Vega, we celebrate a life that was incredibly lived, a life dedicated to family, friends, and the music that made her soul dance. Her legacy will forever resonate in our hearts, reminding us of all of the importance of love, connection, and celebrating every moment.
