Javier Francisco Lopez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on July 19, 2026 in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of68. He was born on December 4, 1957, in Nogales, Arizona.
Javier’s life was centered on family, unwavering friendship, and a love story unlike any other. His life was marked by hard work, lifelong friendships, and a father’s unconditional love. His legacy will forever live in the hearts of all who knew him.
Javier was the cherished son of Francisco T. Lopez and Rosa Carrillo Hernandez, both of whom preceded him in death. He grew up alongside his siblings, Angie Lopez; Trinidad Martinez and her husband, Alfonso Martinez; Juan Lopez; David Lopez and his wife, Jessica Lopez; Armando Lopez; Raymond Lopez; and his late siblings, Carlos Lopez and Rosie Lopez, whose memories remained deeply cherished by the family.
A proud graduate of Sunnyside High School in Tucson, Javier built a life rooted in love and compassion. He dedicated many years to Sun Tran as a bus operator, faithfully serving the Tucson community. Known for his strong work ethic and reliability, he earned the admiration of passengers and coworkers alike.
Javier’s life reflected his compassionate and empathetic nature. He was the rock of his family—the steady, resilient leader everyone relied on. With his wonderful sense of humor, he had a remarkable gift for bringing people together and making every gathering unforgettable. He had a way of making people laugh and could light up every room he entered with his warmth, kindness, and larger-than-life presence.
No matter the circumstances, Javier always put his loved ones first. He placed the needs of his family above his own. He never let anyone go hungry or without a place to stay. He opened his home to anyone in need and never hesitated to help.
He shared a lifetime of love with his beautiful wife, Elizabeth C. Soliz, who survives him. His legacy lives on through his children: Javier Lopez Jr., Angel Lopez (Nicky), Xavier Soliz (stoner), Michael Lopez, Bobby Lopez, Erik Lopez, Vicente Lopez (Vinny), Joe Lopez, Monique Lopez, Lisamarie Lopez (Cita), Rosemarie Soliz (Gunness), and Ruth Lopez (Yaya).
Javier’s family circle also includes those who passed before him, including his beloved granddaughter, Yasmine, and grandson, Junior “Little Guy.” Their memories remained forever close to his heart.
Above all, Javier cherished being a grandfather. He was blessed with 30 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and he embraced that role fully. He gave them unconditional love, unwavering faith, and constant support.
His grandchildren knew him as a gentle guide, a source of wisdom and laughter, and someone whose love reflected God’s grace. Though they will deeply miss him, they find comfort in knowing he is now at peace.
Javier’s compassion, generous heart, respectful spirit, and considerate nature were admired by everyone who knew him. He was almost always late for big events, but he would joke to lighten the mood. He loved cooking for his family, and working on his beloved old car brought him peace.
He found joy in spending time outdoors and camping with his children when they were young. He appreciated the simple beauty of nature and reminded others to slow down, take their time, and enjoy God’s creation, even when life felt busy.
Javier’s life was an inspiration to all who knew him. He will not only be missed but deeply longed for. His memory will live on in our hearts forever.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life during the scheduled services. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Chapels—Tucson, located at 2580 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713. A second visitation and prayer service will take place on Thursday, August 7, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location, with a Prayer Service beginning at 10:00 AM. The burial will follow at 12:00 PM on August 7, 2026, at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N Oracle Rd, Tucson, AZ 85705.
Javier Francisco Lopez leaves behind a legacy measured not by years, but by the countless lives he touched with his love, kindness, strength, and devotion to his family. He was the heart of his home—a steady presence who brought comfort, guidance, and joy to all who knew him.
Although our hearts ache in his absence, we find peace in knowing he is now with our Lord and Savior. His love will continue to live on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends.
His memory will be cherished in every story shared, every lesson remembered, and every act of love inspired by his example.
