Rio Rico

In loving memory of Irma Guadalupe Gomez, a compassionate soul who touched the lives of many through her dedication to the healthcare industry and her unwavering kindness towards others. Irma, born in Hermosillo Sonora on March 26, 1962, transcended to eternal peace on May 17, 2024, in Nogales Arizona.

Irma's journey in healthcare spanned over 40 years, starting packing surgical equipment at Qualtex to becoming one of the finest nurses in the county. She served at esteemed institutions such as Mariposa Community Health Center, Holy Cross Hospital, and many others before becoming the manager/owner of Viviana's Home Care in Rio Rico, AZ. Her work was not merely a job but a calling to help those in need.

One of Irma's most cherished talents was her culinary prowess. Cooking was her love language; she expressed care and affection through delicious home-cooked meals and delectable desserts. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and comfort where she showcased her love for her family and friends.

Graduating from Nursing School at Universidad de Sonora (UNISON) and revalidating her degree with Pima Community College, Irma conquered language barriers by learning English as her second language. Her perseverance and dedication were truly commendable.

Irma's benevolent nature knew no bounds. Described as a great woman, a diligent worker, and a loving mother, she always put others' needs before hers. She worked tirelessly for the well-being of her daughters - Judith Corte, Janet Corte, Dulce Hernandez (Tammy Hernandez), Karina Macias - and granddaughter Natalia.

In addition to her immediate family, Irma is survived by her brother Marcelo Galaviz, sister Rosalinda Chavez, and mother Maria Dolores Chavez. She leaves behind a legacy of selflessness, kindness, and unwavering compassion that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Irma's proudest accomplishments were rooted in her ability to positively impact her community. Countless individuals benefitted from her care and dedication throughout her career in healthcare.

Beyond her professional achievements and culinary talents, Irma also enjoyed watching novelas and spending quality time with her daughters, especially her beloved granddaughter Natalia. Her presence brought joy wherever she went, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with this remarkable woman.

As we mourn the loss of Irma Guadalupe Gomez, let us celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the enduring legacy of love and kindness she leaves behind. May her soul rest in eternal peace as we carry forward her spirit of generosity and compassion.

Rest in peace, dear Irma - your memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
