Ignacio "Nacho" Mercado

Ignacio "Nacho" Mercado, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 6, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on November 16, 1947, Nacho was known for his infectious humor and storytelling ability, qualities that endeared him to everyone he met. A hard worker throughout his life, he consistently demonstrated dedication not only in his professional endeavors but also in his role as a cherished family man.

Nacho’s commitment to his family and friends was evident in everything he did. He was always ready to offer a helping hand, embodying the spirit of kindness and generosity. His laughter and stories brought joy to gatherings, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to share moments with him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Josefina Mercado, who stood by his side through all of life’s challenges. Nacho was a proud father to his children: Ignacio Mercado, Martha Mercado-Tovar, and Manuel Mercado. He delighted in the roles of grandfather and was cherished by his grandchildren: Emilio Tovar, Valentina Mercado, Camila Tovar, Manuel Mercado, Nicolas Mercado, and Alonzo Mercado. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he reveled in the happiness they brought to his life.

Nacho leaves behind many family members and friends who will remember him not only for his humor and stories but also for his unwavering reliability and love. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
