Today, we gather to honor and remember Hector Moreno Haro, a man who lived life on his own terms, with courage, curiosity, and an untamed spirit.
My father was a man of many talents and many paths. He explored many paths early in life studying investigations, police work, paramedicine, and counseling always searching for where his heart truly belonged. Though those roads were not meant for him, they reflected his curiosity, courage, and desire to understand and help others. Eventually, he found his true passion in refrigeration, a trade he dedicated himself to with pride and skill. He was the kind of man who could adapt anywhere, learn anything, and never allow himself to be confined to just one place or one way of life.
He carried a free spirit within him. He loved movement, freedom, and living life his own way. Even through life’s hardships, he continued forward with strength and determination. Though cancer may have taken his body, it never took his spirit.
He leaves behind a large and loving family: his children, Raul Haro, Lorena Haro, Jeannette Haro, Maria Lopez, Hector Haro, Evatiza Bogard, Anthony Haro, and Pedro Haro; along with 24 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren who carry pieces of him within them. His legacy lives on through every story, every lesson, every memory, and every life he touched.
Dad, today we say goodbye, but never forget you. You are now free from pain, free from suffering, and finally free to fly, free bird.
May you rest peacefully, and may your spirit continue to soar wherever freedom takes you.
