Hector Manuel Rios, Jr. "Guero", born on January 11, 1994, in Tucson, AZ, passed away in his hometown on August 7, 2026. His remarkable spirit, devoted love for family, and gentle wit leave an enduring impact on all who were fortunate to know him.
Guero was the beloved husband of Teyonna Lenae Rios, with whom he shared a deep and abiding love. He was a devoted father to Emy Lucia Rios, Alexianna Lizette Rios, Alano Santiago Rios, Erik, Andrew, and Joseph Rodriguez. Guero’s dedication to his children was always evident, he loved and adored them, and they were the center of his world. He will be remembered for the countless moments spent playing with his children, always ensuring they were engaged, laughing, and learning. In Guero’s home, television rarely substituted for genuine bonding; instead, he brought joy and adventure into everyday life by building forts for his children and making lasting memories with them by his side.
Guero's sense of family extended far beyond his role as a father. He is survived by his father, Hector M. Rios, mother, Cathleen Itule and step-father, Christopher Itule; his caring sister, Cayla Rios; loyal brothers, Aron Rios and Michael Itule; and his grandparents, Donald and Sandra Managan. Though he mourned the loss of his grandparents, Francisco "Pelon" and Rosa "Kinka" Rios, their influence was woven into the fabric of his life.
After attending Mountain View High School in Tucson, Guero embarked on a life marked by curiosity and a passion for discovery. He thrived outdoors, always finding peace in adventure. Among his favorite pastimes were morning cold plunges, hiking in Sabino Canyon and playing frisbee golf. Always keen to understand how things worked, Guero enjoyed taking things apart and rebuilding them, a testament to his intelligence and patience.
Those who knew Guero will remember his personality as a blend of kindness, intelligence, and humor. He approached the world with both compassion and calm, always level-headed and incredibly patient. His witty sense of humor lightened many hearts, and he was quick to bring a smile or laughter to those around him.
A man of simple pleasures, Guerro delighted in sweets, especially candy and traditional Mexican treats—a small joy that friends and family lovingly recall.
Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Guerro’s life at a visitation on August 21, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Martinez Funeral Chapels – Tucson, located at 2580 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713.
