Guadalupe "Rod" Rodriguez, a devoted husband, loving grandfather, and proud father, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, in his hometown of Tucson, Arizona. Born on October 3, 1936, in Tucson, Rod lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his country, and his passions.

Rod served with honor in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, dedicating 20 years to military avionics. After his exemplary military career, he brought his technical expertise to IBM, where he worked as a manufacturing engineer for 12 years until the company’s closing. Even in retirement, Rod’s hands were never still; he found joy and fulfillment restoring cars and crafting intricate rod iron works, pursuing hobbies that reflected both his precision and creativity.

Rod was a deeply loving and selfless man who always put the needs of his family first; a gifted problem solver who can fix anything, and a steady source of strength and unwavering support to all who knew him. Above all, he cared deeply for his family, a devotion that defined him throughout his life. He cherished taking his wife and daughter on outings to the casino and found pleasure in frequent visits with his sons to the Mexican restaurants along Fourth Avenue on the south side of town.

His greatest pride was his children; George Rodriguez (Darla), Letty Clark, Steve Rodriguez (Shirley), Robert Rodriguez (Rose), and Richard Rodriguez (Marisela), who carry forward his legacy. He was equally proud of his grandchildren; Danielle, Chris, Robert, Stephanie, Sean, Nick, Brittany, Richie, and Anthony as well as his great-grandchildren; Athena, Azalea, Gavin, Cameron, Angelina, NJ, Nomar, Gianna, Gianni, Simmaya, and Savannah each a living testament to his enduring love and commitment.

Rod is survived by his siblings, Gilbert Rodriguez and James Rodriguez, and is remembered with great affection by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who admired his strength, loyalty, and unwavering spirit.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rebecca Rodriguez, whose memory remained a guiding light in his life.

Guadalupe "Rod" Rodriguez leaves behind a legacy of steadfast love, hard work, and family devotion. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on through those who loved him and the countless lives he touched.
