Guadalupe C Machado

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Guadalupe C. Machado, who was called home to the Lord on May 16, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on November 20, 1935, in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico, she was a cherished daughter of Jesus and Cecilia Cuevas. Her life was beautifully intertwined with love, beginning at the tender age of 15 when she met her soulmate, Jose De la Luz Machado. Guadalupe often fondly reminisced about their first encounter, describing how she was enjoying the water of the canal when he rode up on a donkey, capturing her heart forever. After their marriage, Guadalupe and Jose made a loving home in Tucson, Arizona, where they raised five wonderful children. While Jose worked tirelessly to provide for the family, Guadalupe embraced her role as a devoted homemaker, ensuring that the household was filled with warmth, the children were well-fed, and the beans and tortillas were always fresh. Guadalupe demonstrated unparalleled courage, especially in her battle against breast cancer, which she faced and beat with grace and tenacity. Her legacy lives on through her beloved daughters, Concepcion, Florentina, and Ignacia Machado, as well as her 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by her beloved Parrot Periquito of 34 years. Guadalupe was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Cecilia (Contreras), and her dear sons, Pedro and Giliberto Machado. Guadalupe’s nurturing spirit, unwavering love, and joyful laughter will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but warmly remembered as a beacon of love and strength within her family.
