Deeply connected to the collective that is humanity, Greg "Igor Ho" Horwath, a Principal Software Engineer, well known for his passion tackling the most challenging projects at work, has left this plane and ascended into the stars. Leaving behind a long legacy of innovation, and dedication. Greg was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to parents Joseph and LaVonne, on November 16, 1951, and spent his last moments on earth with his wife in Rio Rico, Arizona.

Throughout his illustrious career Greg exceeded expectations in his role as a Principal Software Engineer. His colleagues remember as someone who embraced challenges with confidence, enthusiasm, and determination. His impact was profound, especially in projects like developing GPS systems, contributing to the Y2K project, and working on the ESSM missile program, and many others most too classified to speak of. Beyond his professional achievements, Greg's genuine love for his work shone through in every project he undertook. His absence is one that will be felt around the globe.

Described as having a very large and vibrant personality, Greg was known for his sincere love for others. Through his numerous philanthropic endeavors, he invested in the future of humanity. Time and again he displayed an unwavering faith in people as a whole. He believed in always speaking the truth, and worked hard to meticulously plan for every possible outcome, a trait that made him a stand out amongst his peers. Greg saw himself as immortal in spirit (much like a Tralfamadore, with an immense personality)

In addition to his professional pursuits, Greg found joy in various hobbies and interests that brought him solace, weather it was watching birds, enjoying his miniature farm, indulging in his very extensive DVD collection, enjoying time with his wife, or simply cuddling his dogs Greg cherished these moments of relaxation. He also enjoyed keeping his mind sharp playing spades, and often transported himself deep in thought within the unrestrained limitless fourth dimension.

Greg's service extended beyond the realm of software engineering; he dutifully served in the United States Air Force, and then continued to contribute to the civilian defense effort through companies like Hughes, Raytheon, and Intersect Engineering.  He both directly, and indirectly supported all branches of our military. His commitment to those he cared for reflected his absolutely selfless nature.

His legacy is one of protection of his country, and for others. Providing security well into the future. He not only empowered, but inspired his wife and many others to believe in themselves and to live up to their highest potential. He will be deeply missed.

Greg leaves behind a strong & much-loved wife, Margi; his son Graham, daughter Shawn, and amazing grandson Ryan. He also leaves behind two siblings Cindy and Terry. While we mourn the loss of such an extraordinary man, we also celebrate the remarkable life of Greg "Igor Ho" Horwath. A visionary software engineer, a devoted, loving man, and a loyal friend whose impact will be felt for years to come. May the light from his star shine brightly for all eternity.
