Gloria L. Noperi, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 87. Born on June 8, 1937, in Naco, Sonora, Mexico, Gloria’s life was a testament to her strength, compassion, and unwavering faith.
Gloria was a dedicated school teacher before embarking on a career in retail, where she served as an assistant manager at McClellan's. Her passion for education and nurturing spirit carried her through her life, but it was in her role as a mother that she found her true calling. Gloria devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her eight children, instilling in them the values of hard work, faith, and love.
A woman with a conservative disposition and a delightful touch of sass, Gloria exemplified what it meant to be a devoted Catholic. Her faith was a central pillar of her life, guiding her actions and shaping her relationships. She was a caring and protective mother, always ensuring her children felt loved and secure in a world that could often be uncertain.
Gloria attended college in Mexico, an experience that enriched her understanding of life and deepened her love for learning. Throughout her life, she found joy in music, her beautiful voice gracing many performances during her youth. She loved to sing, and her passion for music never waned, as she often shared her talent with family and friends. She loved to sew and was a frequent visitor to the Pueblo Senior Center, she cherished the community there and the friendships she cultivated over the years.
Gloria is survived by her loving sons: Pedro Noperi Jr., Antonio Noperi (Jenny), Adrian Noperi (Roberta), Juan De Dios Noperi (Dolores), Gildardo Noperi (Linda), Flavio Noperi (Laura), and Fernando Noperi (Stephanie); her cherished daughters, Analilia Noperi Harrison (David) and Margarita Ramos (Victor); along with 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren who adored her dearly. She is also remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, and friends who were privileged to know her.
Her legacy lives on in those she touched throughout her life. Gloria is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pedro Noperi; her parents, Juan and Anna Larrañaga; as well as her brother, Juan. Together, they surely welcomed her into eternal peace.
As we gather to celebrate Gloria’s life, we invite all who knew her to join us in remembering the warmth of her heart, the strength of her character, and the love she freely gave to all. A visitation will be held on May 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM, at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson.
