With heavy hearts and deep respect, the family announces the passing of Gerardo Antonio "Jerry" Castro, who departed this life on July 7, 2026, at the age of 47. Born on September 2, 1978, Gerardo’s time with us was marked by kindness, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to his loved ones.
Jerry leaves behind a devoted family who will cherish his memory always. His beloved daughter, Abigail Castro, survives him, as do his caring mother, Lucinda Hernandez, and his supportive brother, Adrian Castro (Lissette). He also leaves a cherished legacy in his nephew, Adrian Castro Jr., and his nieces, Adelina Castro and Alejandra Castro. Jerry's father, Gerardo A. Castro, preceded him in death.
Throughout his journey, Gerardo touched the lives of those close to him with unwavering love, gentle guidance, and a quiet strength. He was always present for family, finding joy and meaning in the bonds that united them. His presence at family gatherings, his wisdom, and his warm spirit will be profoundly missed.
Gerardo’s passing brings sadness to all who knew him, yet his memory will remain a guiding light for his family and friends. Together, they will remember him for his integrity, his laughter, and his generous heart.
To honor Gerardo’s life and legacy, services have been arranged for Monday, July 20, 2026. Family and friends are invited to a visitation beginning at 9:00 AM at Martinez Funeral Chapels - Tucson, located at 2580 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713. A Rosary will be recited at the same location at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706, at 12:30 PM.
While Jerry's physical presence is no longer with us, the values he instilled and the love he shared will endure in the hearts of his family and all those who had the honor of knowing him. His memory will forever be cherished, and his legacy will live on through those he loved most.
