Frederick "Fred" Duarte

May 29, 1957 — Jul 3, 2026

Tucson, Arizona

Frederick “Fred” Duarte, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on July 3, 2026 in his hometown of Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 69. Born on May 29, 1957, in Tucson, Fred grew up surrounded by family and community, values that remained constants in his life and guided his every step.

Fred was a proud graduate of Tucson High School, where he forged enduring friendships and set the foundation for his hardworking, generous spirit. Soon after graduation, he began his lifelong career in the tire business—a testament to his dedication and determination. With over 20 years of service at Jack Furriers, Fred became more than just an employee; he was a respected colleague, valued mentor, and a familiar, friendly face to customers and coworkers alike.

More than anything, Fred’s world revolved around his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Rhonda, who stood alongside him through every triumph and challenge. His legacy lives on in his children: daughter Monique Duarte and her husband George Corral, son Frederick "Freddy" Duarte and his wife Theresa Krosse, and son Dominic Duarte and his wife Elia Corrales. Fred took immense pride in the accomplishments and happiness of his children and was further blessed by his grandchildren: Dominic Duarte, Axel Duarte, Noah Duarte, Gabriel Corral, JJ, Ava, Landon, Kelis, Jacob, Dakoda, Harley, and Kolby. His love expanded through his step-children, Jason, Tiffany, and Nicholas Kusmit along with his wife, Maggie.

Fred cherished each member of his tight-knit and loving family. He is mourned by his siblings: sisters Linda (and her husband Mike), Keta, Tina, and Susie; and brothers David and Fernando. Nieces, nephews, and so many dear friends also join in remembering his remarkable life and the genuine warmth he brought to every relationship.

Anyone who crossed Fred’s path was quickly introduced to his humor. His first line was always a joke, and his sense of fun and laughter left everyone at ease. He was known as someone who worked hard, but even more as someone who made those around him feel like family. His devotion to loved ones was nothing short of extraordinary, and his home was a place where all were welcomed with open arms and a hearty meal.

Fred was a devoted University of Arizona fan and delighted in following the Wildcats. He found joy casting a line while fishing, took solace and pride in tending to his plants and trees, and filled his home with the aromas of his delicious cooking, a gift he generously shared.

Of his many accomplishments, Fred was proudest of his children and grandchildren, seeing in them the embodiment of his hopes, values, and love. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion, lessons that will continue to inspire those who loved him.
