Francisco M. Valenzuela, a cherished member of the community and dedicated family man, passed away on September 22, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on December 15, 1940, Francisco was a gifted individual whose contributions to the mining industry and to those around him will be fondly remembered.
For 45 years, Francisco made his mark as a renowned copper miner, excelling as a mechanic, welder, and supervisor. His dedication to his craft was evident, as he never called out sick, showcasing his unwavering commitment to both his work and his colleagues. He earned respect in the mineral business not just locally but throughout the world, particularly for his expertise in Arizona Minerals. Francisco also took great pride in sharing his knowledge with others, teaching at Central Arizona College and the University of Arizona, where he inspired many aspiring geologists.
Beyond his professional achievements, Francisco had a zest for life that touched all who knew him. He was known for his infectious personality and sense of humor, always bringing laughter to those around him. His generosity shone brightly as he frequently took friends and family out to enjoy meals together. With a signature phrase of "I love everyone," he expressed his deep affection for his loved ones and maintained a daily practice of praying for them.
In addition to his mining pursuits, Francisco had a passion for music, leading two bands named Los Gallas De Sonora and Imagen Norteno. Music provided him with an avenue to connect with others, further enriching his life and those of his friends.
Francisco is survived by his beloved sons, Jesus F. (Connie), Victor S., and Ralph C. (Tina). He leaves behind a legacy of love through his 15 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren, along with his brothers Renee and Leroy, and sisters Leticia and Rosie. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his memory will be cherished by all whose lives he impacted.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Edna; son, Heriberto; brother, Jesse, Heriberto and Theodore; granddaughter and 3 great grandkids.
