Fernando "Nando" Martinez passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, surrounded by family. He was 49 years old.
Nando was the youngest of six siblings and the heart of his family. He was a devoted father, loving son, cherished brother, uncle, nino, and friend. To those who knew him best, Nando was more than family, he was a constant source of strength, loyalty, and unconditional love. He showed up for the people he loved without hesitation, always putting family first and expecting nothing in return.
On November 14, 2025, Nando was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney failure. Over the weeks that followed, he endured repeated hospital stays and fought with remarkable strength and grace. Wanting peace and comfort, Nando made the intentional decision to return home. On January 26, 2026, as soon as he was laid in his bed, Nando took his final breaths, surrounded by love and family, exactly as he wished.
Nando found joy in life's simplest moments being with family, sharing meals, and creating memories with the people he loved most. His idea of a perfect day was never extravagant; it was rooted in togetherness, laughter, and love. That is how he lived, and that is how he will always be remembered.
He was preceded in death by his father, Philip Martinez.
Nando is survived by his mother, Margaret Romo; his siblings Monica, Roy, Margo, Eddie, and Javier; and his beloved children, Jacob, Nickolas, and Jessika, who were the pride and joy of his life. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who were deeply impacted by his kindness and unwavering presence.
Fernando "Nando" Martinez will be remembered for his big heart, his selflessness, and the way he loved so completely. His legacy lives on through his children, his family, and all those fortunate enough to have been loved by him.
