Our mother was a strong, determined woman whose love showed through her actions, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment to her family. She was stern and strict, yet deeply caring, and she believed in doing what needed to be done. No matter how hard it was.
She worked tirelessly and took great pride in her independence and in providing for those she loved. Accomplishing things on her own was not just a necessity for her, but a source of pride. She was a reliable presence in many people's lives, always stepping up when others needed her.
One of her greatest joys was the holidays. Her home was the gathering place where everyone was welcome, and no one ever left hungry. She took pride in bringing family together, making sure every seat was filled and everyone felt cared for in her own special way.
Elvira loved her house plants and always had some of the most beautiful roses in her yard.
Her voice and energy were very distinctive; you always heard “Vera! " or " Tia Vida!” when she walked into a room.
Surviving family members include devoted children: daughter Vanessa and son Cristobal; her grandchildren, Mia and Alexia, affectionately known as "Lexi"; cherished mother, Elvia, who provided unwavering support and love; sisters; Lisa and Norma, as well as brothers; Michael, Carlos, and David as well as her nieces, nephews and friends. She was deeply devoted to her two fur babies, Sangee and Cariño, who were constantly by her side—bringing comfort during illness and lifting her spirits during difficult moments.
She shared a rare and beautiful bond with her mother, Elvia, a closeness that went far beyond family. Their relationship was rooted in deep love, devotion, and friendship; they were truly each other's best friends.
We will honor the remarkable life of our beloved Elvira. Her enduring legacy of love and connection has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her. As we reflect upon the memories shared and the bonds forged, we are reminded of the warmth and kindness that she consistently imparted to those around her. Her spirit will continue to illuminate our lives, forever cherished and never forgotten.
