Eduardo Gomez Paredes

Eduardo "Eddie" Gomez Paredes, a beloved son, father, grandfather and brother, passed away on April 5, 2026, in his hometown of Tucson, Arizona. Born on August 28, 1972, Eddie led a life marked by straightforwardness, a sharp wit full of sarcasm, and a passionate love for those closest to him.

Eddie’s personality was one of contrasts, quick-tempered, but also a great sense of humor; nonchalant about life’s challenges but anchored by a strong faith. This faith, however, was profoundly tested after the loss of his beloved mother, Guadalupe Leon Peterson, to whom he held a deep and enduring bond.

Professionally, Eddie dedicated his career to working as an electrician. Outside of work, Eddie was known for his love of shooting guns, watching football—especially cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers—camping, riding his motorcycle, and fishing. These pastimes reflected his adventurous spirit and zest for life.

Eddie's proudest accomplishments were his son, Eddie L. Paredes, and his granddaughter, Nini Paredes, who brought him immense joy and pride. He is also survived by his cherished father, Eddie R. Paredes, and step-mother, Rita L. Paredes; siblings Ernesto Paredes (Zelda), Daniel Paredes, and Marivel A. Paredes; step-brother Mark A. Lopez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews including his niece Sinthea, nephew and godson Ernesto, niece Maria, and step-niece Anaissa. His circle of loved ones extended to many friends and family who will remember him fondly.

A visitation will be held on April 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson, with a Rosary service beginning at 11:00 a.m. The ceremonies will take place at 2580 S. 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713. A reception will follow next door at Martinez Reception Hall from 1:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m.

Burial of his ashes will take place at Holy Hope Cemetery at a later date. 

Eduardo "Eddie" Gomez Paredes leaves behind a legacy of laughter, strength, and unwavering devotion to his family. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
