David Jeong was born in Long Beach, California to Park Q. “Eddie” and Sally Jeong on August 26, 1958, and eventually moved to Nogales, AZ in 1960. David attended Nogales High School and graduated in 1976. He then continued his education at Arizona State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. After graduation, David moved back to Nogales to start working for the family business, Dandy’s Inc. Once he received his certification in public accounting, David joined Manderfeld, Bunch and Co. PC where he quickly became a partner and grew the practice with a strong team. David was committed and dedicated to his practice Jeong Lizardi PC for 40 years and contributed to several other business endeavors where his investments were invaluable.
David was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants. He was extremely passionate and believed in investing in the Nogales and Santa Cruz County communities. He served in a variety of volunteer governing board positions for local non-profit organizations and ensured Jeong Lizardi, P.C. always contributed to the community.
There are many words to describe David’s personality. Many know him as a hard-working, dedicated businessman or a kind-hearted, uplifting, genuine, loving, reliable, selfless friend or a compassionate, caring and supportive husband, or a funny, positive, patient, motivating and inspiring father. David has always been the life of the party, was always of service to anyone who needed it, and above of all, an honorable and humble man. His presence would radiate happiness the moment he walked into any room. He was always so happy to see a familiar face and would make it his responsibility to make you smile with his witty and sarcastic sense of humor. He shared his abundant wisdom anytime someone would seek his advice and always knew the perfect words to say.
David would give everything his full effort and was very passionate about music, restoring vintage cars and flying planes. He always looked forward to summer beach getaways, tailgating at ASU football games, going to Disneyland with the girls, being on the golf course and his hunting and fishing trips with family. He is survived by his wife Lourdes and daughters Devan Leigh and Cameron. Siblings Agustine Fong (Cristina), Edward Jr. (Lupita), Arthur and Robert William (Leticia), Ruby Chan (Pak) and several nieces and nephews. We will all miss his contagious laugh that would fill the air with such warmth and life. Services will be on Saturday August 5th at Sacred Heart Church with visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm followed by Mass at 2:00 pm.
