Cecilia Arvayo Ramirez

March 15, 1939 — June 24, 2025

Cecilia Arvayo Ramirez, affectionately known as Nina, graced this world for 86 wonderful years before peacefully passing on June 24, 2025. Born on March 15, 1939, her life was a vibrant tapestry woven with threads of love, laughter, and music. Nina devoted herself tirelessly to her career at Telefonos de Mexico, where she began her journey in 1956, ultimately rising to the esteemed position of supervisor. Throughout her career, she earned the admiration and respect of her colleagues, leaving an indelible mark in their hearts.

Nina cherished traditions that connected her with family and friends, most notably celebrating her St. Day, Santa Cecilia, and Dia del Musico with unparalleled enthusiasm. While she often chose to forgo birthday celebrations, her house would brim with loved ones, delicious food, and flowing beverages as they gathered to honor her spirit. Her nieces and nephews will forever treasure the whimsical tales she spun, including the enchanting story of the little mariposita, her warm smile lighting up the room as she recounted it.

An aficionado of music, Nina cultivated a collection of albums that harked back to the sixties, each one a melody of memories that will resonate through generations. Her passion for photography flourished in 1956, resulting in a plethora of albums that documented and preserved the family’s history for them to cherish and reflect upon. At every family gathering, she was a constant presence, always arriving with her thoughtful gifts and camera in hand, forever capturing the joy of the moment.

Though Nina never married or had children of her own, she filled the lives of her great nephews and nieces with love and care, frequently greeting them with refreshing orange juice served in a distinctive "mole" glass. She made every moment special, sharing her joyous spirit while teaching them the art of making the perfect drink. As adults, her warmth and wisdom continued to shine through, amusing them with stories about President and sharing laughter over her beloved games of solitaire, whether it was on her phone or with traditional cards, always accompanied by her favorite brandy.

Nina was known for her vibrant personality; she was everyone’s Nina, appreciated by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Always refined and courteous, she could light up any gathering with her playful sense of humor. She embodied the spirit of generosity, often picking up her great nieces and nephews from school when they were unwell and showering them with candy and beautifully wrapped Christmas gifts. Her wholesome laughter and unwavering support created a nurturing environment where no one felt judged, and every heart felt uplifted.

Cecilia Arvayo Ramirez leaves behind her loving brother, Ricardo Arvayo Sr., and many dear family members, including her nephew, Ricardo Arvayo Jr. (Lilia), and her nieces, Carmen A. Hernandez (Cuauhtemoc), Teresa Arvayo, and Cecilia Villanes (Victor). Each of them carries forward the spark of her vivacity, her laughter echoing in their hearts, unfurling beautiful memories that will remain forever cherished.

As we gather to say goodbye, we celebrate a life that was a delightful blend of laughter, loving gestures, and heartfelt moments. Cheers to you, Nina... until we meet again. Your spirit will forever dance through our memories, as sweet music lingers long after the last note has been played.
