Carlos Hector Durazo-Niebla, a cherished member of the Nogales community, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on July 11, 1940, Carlos lived a life filled with kindness, warmth, and laughter, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew him.
For over 20 years, Carlos dedicated his career to serving as a manager at Wingfield Tire, where his colleagues admired his work ethic and his ability to connect with clients on a personal level. Known as a gentleman who would "give the shirt off his back," Carlos had an uncanny ability to make anyone and everyone feel special. His welcoming demeanor and sense of humor were gifts he shared freely, brightening the days of those around him.
In addition to his impressive professional career, Carlos proudly served in the United States Army as a corporal with the 5th Engineers during the Vietnam War, stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. His experiences during this time imbued him with a sense of discipline and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life.
Family was at the heart of Carlos’ existence. He was a loving husband to Martha S. Durazo and a devoted father to his sons, Carlos, Gerardo, and Pecas Durazo. His bond with his five grandchildren was filled with love, wisdom, and countless cherished moments. Whether enjoying family outings or simple afternoons at home, Carlos found his greatest joy surrounded by loved ones. He was also a beloved brother to Oscar Durazo Niebla and a sister to Blanca Norma (Durazo) Carrasco, whose lives were enriched by his presence and guidance.
Carlos was passionate about the great outdoors; he enjoyed hunting and target shooting, often sharing these hobbies with his family. His love for westerns and dogs showcased his appreciation for life's simpler pleasures, reflecting a personality that treasured both adventure and peace.
To honor Carlos's life and legacy, a Rosary will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nogales, AZ, on February 6, 2026, starting at 1:30 PM, followed by a Mass at 2:00 PM. The interment will take place at Nogales City Cemetery at 3:30 PM the same day.
