Carlos Javier Canez

Carlos Javier Canez passed away on October 28, 2026, at the age of 39. He was born on April 17, 1987, and will be remembered as a man whose warmth, humor, and devotion to family left a lasting mark on all who knew him.

Carlos loved music, family gatherings, and being outdoors. He was known for bringing people together, and many family get-togethers were made even more memorable by his famous guacamole. Funny, humble, and hardworking, Carlos valued his family above all else. He was deeply supportive, especially of his children, and took great pride in them. His charismatic and social nature helped him make friends everywhere he went, and his presence brought energy, laughter, and comfort to those around him.

Among the greatest joys of Carlos’s life were his children, who were his proudest accomplishment. He is survived by his beloved parents, Luis Gerardo Canez and Lupita Caperon; by his daughter, Destiny Canez; and by his sons, Carlos Javier Canez Jr. and Isaiah Gerardo Canez. He is also survived by his step-sons, Jacob Cortez Davila and Julian Isacc Davila, and his step-daughter, Jenessy Aphrodite Davila, all of whom were part of the family he loved so dearly.

Carlos is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Crystal Michelle Canez (Gilberto) ; his brothers, Luis Gerardo Canez (Stephanie) and Armando Enrique Canez; and his girlfriend, Lucia “Lucy” Helen Segura. He leaves behind a circle of family and friends who will continue to cherish his kindness, his supportive spirit, his easy ability to connect with others, and the many memories shared in his company.

Visitation will be held on November 4, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Martinez Funeral Chapels - Tucson, 2580 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713. A Rosary will be held there the same day from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow on November 4, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, 3015 N Oracle Rd, Tucson, AZ 85705.

Carlos Javier Canez will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his generous heart, his laughter, and the love he gave so freely to his family and friends. His memory will live on in the lives of those he cherished most.
