Carlos valued education and was a proud alum of Nogales High School and the University of Arizona. His quest for knowledge was insatiable throughout his life.
Having been honorably discharged from the United States Airforce, Carlos exemplified bravery and commitment to his country. His patriotism was a core part of his identity.
Outside of work and service, Carlos found solace in the greens of Meadow Hills Country Club every weekend, sharing his love for golf with his nieces and nephews and imparting wisdom on navigating the sport with finesse.
Among his proudest accomplishments was being a founding member of the Nogales Trap and Skeet Club and a lifelong member of The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. These affiliations showcased his dedication to community service and camaraderie.
Carlos is survived by his daughter Carla P. Cota-Nazockdast PhD, son-in-law Ehssan Nazockdast PhD, granddaughters Ianna and Ava; as well as his brother Gene Cota.
