Bertha G. Castelo, born on June 7, 1939, in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, left this world on April 28, 2025, in Nogales, Arizona. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit that touched anyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Bertha embarked on her career journey at the Fray Marcos Hotel in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, where her remarkable work ethic propelled her through the ranks. Starting as a greeter, she embraced every role with enthusiasm, whether operating the elevator, managing phone calls, or finally serving as the hotel manager. Her transition to the United States brought her to a new role that would soon capture her heart which is serving as a waitress at IHOP. It was here that Bertha found joy in every plate she served, infusing her work with a warmth that made everyone feel welcome. Her uncanny ability to sprinkle laughter in the midst of her tasks made her favorite job ever, reflecting the passion she poured into her service.
Her proudest accomplishment was her son, Hector F. Gutierrez, whom she cherished deeply. Bertha's dedication to raising her son with love and values was a testament to her nurturing spirit. She cultivated a familial bond that extended beyond parenting, showering affection upon her many nieces and nephews, making them laugh and feel special with her unmistakable joy.
Bertha had an infectious smile that lit up the lives of those around her. Always happy and vibrant, her personality was a tapestry of creativity. She danced through life, wrote beautiful poems, painted with grace, sewed with care, and baked goodies that warmed hearts. Photography captured her adventurous spirit, as she embraced a little bit of everything with endless enthusiasm.
