Ana M. Montoya passed away on October 3, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 91. She was born on July 26, 1935, in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. She will be remembered as a strong woman, set in her ways, stubborn in the best sense, and a good cook whose presence left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved her.

Ana enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino, and she loved dancing and singing. These simple pleasures brought joy to her life and created many happy memories for her family. Among the things she held most dear were her children, who were her proudest accomplishment and remained at the heart of her life.

She is survived by her sons, Ruben Montoya, Sergio Montoya (Veronica), and Oscar Montoya. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Carissa, Jeremiah, Jonathan, Anyssa, Sergio II, Angel, and Michael, as well as her great-grandchildren Jaela, Mario, Mia, James, Brieanna, Arielle, Matteo, Adrian, and Manolo. Ana is also survived by her brothers Gabriel Martinez (Carmen), and Antonio Martinez (Antonietta), Guillermo Martinez (Dolores), her sisters Mercy Martinez and Lupita Villalobos (Lionel+); many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio Martinez and Maria Garzon Martinez; her daughter, Ana Irma Montoya; her brother, Jose Jesus Martinez; her sister, Josephina Miranda; her granddaughter, Olivia Corona; and her great-granddaughter, Irma Belen.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with a rosary recited at 9:00 a.m. at Martinez Funeral Chapels - Tucson, 2580 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713. A Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 602 W Ajo Way, Tucson, AZ 85713. 

Ana M. Montoya will be remembered with love for her strength, her spirit, and the deep devotion she had for her family. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
